Located in Cleveland, OH, the Cleveland Botanical Garden is a mecca of beauty that beckons you to come and visit for a road trip in Ohio! The Holden Forests & Gardens portion of this park is now open to the public, giving you access to a breath of fresh air and a diverse array of flora and fauna to enjoy. Tickets to this attraction must be purchased in advance (not on-site) for $15 for adults and $10 for children.
There are several castles to visit near Centerville, but one of our customers’ favorites has consistently been Loveland Castle in Loveland, OH. Officially dubbed Chateau Laroche, this castle is located just south of Loveland Park near the Little Miami River and makes for a great day trip in Ohio. Fun fact: this historic site was built one brick at a time by Henry Andrews. It features four types of towers, a dry-moat, a domed ceiling, and tons of hand-tiling inside.
Looking for a place to road-trip to in Ohio that offers a different pace than you probably experience during life in Springboro or Bellbrook? There are plenty of Amish country communities to visit, including the towns of Berlin, Millersburg, and Walnut Creek. Looking for a more “staged” experience that’s meant to be interactive? Head to Yoder’s Amish Home in Holmes County. For just $13 (adults ages 13+) and $9 (kids ages 2-12) you can take a grand tour, buggy ride, and farm tour, which takes about 1.5 hours.
Hocking Hills offers several trails to visit, and “Old Man’s Cave”, located on Route 664. It’s near this attraction, at the Upper Falls, where the “Grandma Gatewood Trail” begins — a trail that extends six miles, connecting three of the parks main areas. What else does this park offer? A cave, called Ash Cave, several waterfalls, camping opportunities, and more!
Want to unwind for a day of (safe) fun and sun? There are tons of beaches along Lake Erie’s Coast that you can visit for an easy Ohio road trip! Be sure to check out details and hours of operation for each before visiting, along with any other pertinent rules. From Maumee Bay State Park near Toledo to Erie County’s Nickel Plate Beach, your beach options near Oakwood are nearly endless!
